End of life choice
Referendum - A vote for someone from a politician asking for a direct decision.
There are rules for anyone wanting to vote and they are..
- Be aged over 18 years or over
- Be citizen or permanent resident of NZ
- Suffer from terminal illness thats likely to end their life within 6 months
- Have significant and ongoing decline in physical capability
- Experience unbearable suffering that cannot be eased
- Be able to make an informed decision about assisted dying
Something good about this criteria is that you get told when your life is over so that makes you and your family to be ready for when the times comes. But on the other hand you still have to be over the age of 18, be NZ citizen and experience suffering that cant be eased. All those make your illness worse if your either 16, 15, 14 etc because that means you have to wait longer to just end the pain. You cant make a decision till you are 18 and over so waiting and suffering just to die isn't something anyone wants. So therefore I disagree with some of these rules, obviously if you are under 10 years old you are still learning new things, but that doesn't mean you cant have an opinion it would just mean your parents should be there to help you decide whether or not this illness is worth dying.
